A little bit about me

I'm Ali, a British expat living here in Brisbane. I moved here almost three years ago and quickly got intoxicated by the plentiful sun, sea and nature at my finger tips.

Inspired by my change of scene, I decided that I needed to shake things up in my career too. So after seven years as a geologist in the UK and Australia, I took the plunge to pursue what truly energises me.

This is where videography and photography come in! I have always had a passion for photography and video creation. Since I was a child my siblings, friends and I would come together to make awfully grainy and out of focus home videos of our 'skate stunts'. They never were any good... but fast forward many years, and now equipped with much better equipment I am slowly but surely steering my future to take me to exciting places as I work towards creating beautiful and engaging stories.

The man behind the camera

What are your main interests?

"I love to go to live music gigs, getting outdoors as much as possible through hiking and camping, videoing the world through my lens (that's a given!), writing and spending time with friends and family."

What is important to you?

"I love adventure, travel, new experiences and sharing amazing moments with amazing people."

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

"Making documentaries bringing voices to the unsung or unheard."

What is your dream holiday destination?

"Nepal! I am excited to get back and do the Annapurna Circuit again, as well as other treks in the Dolpo region, mabe even spotting a Snow Leopard!"

What was the last film fest you went to?

"I last went to the Ocean Film Fest here in Brisbane. I loved the documentary "The Raftsmen", such a powerful story!"
